The Green Team 2009

Back Row:
Jim
A lanky winger, Jim joined the team 3 or 4 years ago. Known for his work up the left side and his accurate crossing, he is dedicated and always reliable... and good for a couple goals every season to boot. Look for his debut CD to drop this fall.

Dan M
Dan joined as a forward, but has since slotted into the keeper position and become the undisputed #1. In the vein of Jens Lehmann & Fabien Barthez, he's a vocal leader on the pitch and a truly crazy man between the sticks.

Roscoe
Although he joined the league long before the word "league" was coined, the elder statesman of the Canton Soccer Club is an inspiration to the younger generations with his "never-say-die" attitude. However, many people wish his beer choices were more inspired.

James
He only joined the squad last spring which makes him a relatively new acquisition. Still finding his feet on the team, he is clearly dedicated and enjoying himself... and he's always willing to bring quality beer, a trait others in the squad should work to emulate.

Charlie
A hard working second striker, Charlie displays qualities of both Wayne Rooney and The Marlboro Man, and he handles all of the team legal problems too.

Adam
He's the first choice right back; strong going forward and always reliable on defense. Recently, the team has seen his temper flare a bit which has worked to his advantage.

Front Row:
Dan B

The former coach and captain. He's a leader and the pitch and comfortable in any position. His pace and heart always create problems for the opposition... a pilot in his spare time.

Eric
He joined the squad a couple years back on a free transfer when the Red Team folded. He's a rock in the center of defense and he's always willing to make his way forward.

Young Ken
Ken was brought on board a couple years ago. While he only makes a handful of games each season, he's always helpful when he shows up. His need for better transportation and/or a wake-up call has been often discussed by fellow team-mates.

Tall Kenny
This Ken has been on the team for years and can play anywhere across the midfield, though his pace and heart have worked well over the years in specifically attacking right position.

Andre
The captain, coach and web-master for the team. He prefers to play centrally but slots in on the side when necessary. He is usually good for a few missed opportunities each week.

Cal
A rock in defense with great touch and vision. Like Ruud Krol & Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Cal brings a touch of the beautiful European flare to the back line. He's getting married this fall too.

Not Present for the Team Photo:
Francisco
Francisco joined the team this fall. He's got great touch, and he's never afraid to hang out in an offside position in an attempt to confuse the defenders.

Juan
While no picture seems to exist of this man, his rare appearance on the pitch is always welcomed as he brings a subtle touch and strong vision to the team.

Matt
Matt joined the squad a year ago and he has emerged as a strong central player who is never afraid to get forward and score a goal.

Pat Q
Strong on the ball in the center of the field; he's known to miss about half of each season, but he's always a threat and never afraid to carry the ball into a crowd.

Elizabeth
Missed the fall season for medical reasons, she's strong on the wing, but prefers to play centrally like her coach/mentor. Expect interesting things to emerge from her this winter as she is working to ensure the strong future of the Green Team.

Roger
Known for his tenacity and willingness to get injured, people often say he's overbearing, but that is where his strength lies. He works hard and wears his heart on his sleeve. He missed the fall season due to injury.

Steven
He has missed out for over a year due to injury, and has subsequently lost his place to Dan M, but he's been talking about coming back into the squad... if his wife allows it. However, if he keeps dancing like this he may not be offered a new contract in the close season.
